This unique Food On Foot Guided Tour takes you deep into New York's neighborhoods, allowing you to explore the city like a true local and savor delectable treats away from the usual tourist spots. Prepare for an authentic eating experience where you choose your favorite sweets and enjoy them to your heart's content, creating lasting memories of your visit to the Big Apple.
Food On Foot Guided Tours offers a unique eating experience in New York, taking you beyond typical tourist attractions to explore the city like a local. This is a true eating tour, not a sampling tour, where you choose what you like and eat as much as you like. We pride ourselves on providing unbiased restaurant recommendations to help you save money throughout your stay in New York. We recommend taking this tour as early as possible in your visit to maximize your savings and dining experiences.
Our tours are designed for a relaxed and informal experience, allowing you to mingle with other people and see neighborhoods away from the main tourist areas. While we are an eating tour with some neighborhood history, we are not primarily a history tour. The group sizes can go up to around 40 people. You'll travel like New Yorkers do, by subway and/or foot, and enjoy great reasonably priced, non-gourmet quality food. Each guest needs a one-ride (if staying in the Times Square area), two-ride, or unlimited MetroCard (subway pass) before meeting the tour. Be prepared for waiting times for food preparation and for people to finish, as this is how New Yorkers experience their eateries.
Each stop on the tour is a surprise, and you are not obligated to purchase items at any location. Since we visit permanent locations, the order of stops is not geographically structured (e.g., savory to sweet). Many of our stops are at smaller places, meaning there will be both inside and outside eating, and walking with food. Please remember that our tours involve the subway (most NYC subway stations are not handicapped accessible) and plenty of walking. Tours operate rain or shine, and while times are usually accurate, unexpected issues with mass transit or restaurants are out of our control. Refunds on SuperSaver tickets are not allowed. Please familiarize yourself with the cancellation policy before booking.
