Experience some of the best winter fishing for King Salmon in Kachemak Bay. For over 30 years, we have been targeting these magnificent Winter King Salmon as they migrate up from the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and Southeast Alaska. These fish typically average between 8-12 pounds, but it's not uncommon to reel in larger ones weighing in the 20s, 30s, or even 40s! The limit is two King Salmon per person, with no size restrictions. We employ downriggers to effectively troll our baits and lures at optimal depths, ensuring a productive and exciting fishing experience.
In addition to the thrilling King Salmon fishing, we offer the unique opportunity to go Tanner crabbing. On our way to the fishing grounds, we can deploy a 4x4 foot Tanner Crab pot in waters ranging from 300 to 500 feet deep. On our return journey, we'll retrieve the pot, eager to see what bounty the ocean has provided. The limit for Tanner Crab is three per person, and they must measure at least 4 ¼ inches across the back. Please note that you will need to obtain a Lower Cook Inlet Tanner Crab permit online from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game prior to the trip.
